Frank and Tommie Ashley, Alabaster, AL

Keeping with our tradition, good sports, Frank and Tommie Ashley from Alabaster, Alabama let us take pictures of them in the big chair and at the kissing tree. What would a visit to the secret bed withou that experience?

I loved what Frank said when I ask if he wanted to have is picture made at the kissing tree. He said, "I'll never turn down a chance to get a kiss."

Men! I do believe all you guys think alike.

David and Eila Maddox Happy 34th Anniversary!

David and Eila,

Thanks so much for celebrating your 34th anniversary at the secret. We had such a wonderful time meeting and taking with you guys. It's exciting to think that one day we might be neighbors -- sort of!

Take care and we hope to see you again someday.

Diann & Carl

Dewayne and Whitney Peppers, Jacksons Gap, AL

Rarely does a picture capture the personality of the people in the picture. These cutie-pies are just as precious as the picture shows them to be!!!

If you guys ever "escape" from your adorable three daughters again, please call us. Keep in mind how beautiful a canyon ride will be in the fall of the year. Gotcha, huh?

Whitney, did our prayers work? Did the rain hold out until you got home?

Do come see us again someday. C & D

The Plummers - Part I - Happy 50th Anniversary

It isn't hard to understand why Cora has been so happily married. Many years ago Jerry started this beautiful heirloom necklace for Cora. Each year he added a diamond. Guess what was added to the heart this year? Isn't it absolutely beautiful. Guys, take notes. This might be one of the "secrets" to a happy marriage. Anyone who is around Jerry and Cora for even a few minutes will know they are happily married.

A heart necklace to celebrate 50 wonderful years and picture with a heart (look at the moss on the rock). Perfect!

Wishing you guys the best always! Diann & Carl

Jerry and Cora Plummer, Cullman, AL Happy 50th Anniversary!!!

Last year Jerry and Cora celebrated their 49th anniversary at the secret. This year their children gave them a gift certificate to the secret, a celebration reception and much, much more to celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary!

Lucky US! To be around a couple that has survived 50 wonderful years is so much fun!

See you guys at the next 50th! Diann & Carl

Daryl and Tracy Shaver, Hayden Al Happy 1st!

Caught ya! Ain't love grand?

This is what owning a bed and breakfast is ALLL about! Daryl surprised Tracy last year by choosing the secret for their honeymoon. She had no idea where she was going when Daryl brought her back this year to reminisce about their honeymoon. How sweet!

Adding to the fun is the fact that the Plummers where here last year celebrating their 49th anniversary. They returned this year, the same weekend!

Jay and Robin Denton Happy 25th Anniversary

This was a truly blessed weekend for us. To meet and enjoy the fellowship of this dynamic couple celebrating their 25th wedding anniversary was a wonderful experience for everyone. We loved the talks, the laughs at the table and the sweet spirit you two brought with you. Thank you, Robin and Jay, for choosing the secret for this special anniversary!!!

Jim and Linda Tyman, Pike Road, AL

Oh, boy, did Carl enjoy this weekend, in part because of you, Jim.

Carl really enjoyed having a fella "Yankee" in the house -- even though Carl is from Michigan and Jim is from Massachusetts. At least I know two men who had to come to the South to find a good woman. Jim, you certainly lucked up when you met Linda. If she doesn't epitomize a Southern Lady I don't know who does!

Hey, can you see the heart on the rock? Kinda neat, huh?

Take care and when you come back bring those golf clubs, Jim.

Honeymooners, Jerid & Lisa Evans

Awwhhh, ain't love grand?

There's just something special that happens when we have honeymooners stay with us. I think the other couples draw from the memories of their honeymoon and love abounds on our special mountain! Thanks, Jerid and Lisa for spreading the love around this weekend.

Bill and Brenda Furlow Prattville, AL

Every now and then our bed and breakfast is blessed with guests who have a witness of what God means to them an why. Such are the Furlows. Once again, I learned a new that we never know who sits at our table and the story behind their lives. I think the Bible refers to situations like this as angels unaware. Thank you for sharing with me today, Bill and Brenda. May God bless you in ways you cannot imagine and comfort you with a peace that truly does pass all understanding.

Nicky & Hilda Webb Cordova, Tennessee

What a sweet, precious couple. We feel more like our family visited us this week! Thanks for the good company and fellowship from our fellow Tennesseeans!! Y'all come back soon! D & C P.S. Sorry about the blurry picture. Now you know why "I" try to take the pics! Men! They just point and shoot, don't they?

Mr. and Mrs. Kurtiss Edwards -Happy 19th Anniversary

Thanks for sharing your 19th anniversary at the secret! Happy Anniversary. I've often told Carl there is no greater compliment than for guests to choose to return to our bed and breakfast. You look just as handsome, pretty and happy as you did three years ago.

Don't miss the "heart" at your feet in your picture on the rocks.

Friends: some are silver, some are GOLD

Precious friends making unforgettable memories:
Gail Darty Johnson, Deborah Barrentine Vines, Camellia Barrentine Huey and Blenda Ann Leslie Davis.

What Girls Do On Girl's Night Out

Some weekend guests change your life. These ladies sure did change ours. We were "adopted" by precious Camellia Barrentine Huey (in pink). What a gracious Southern lady who spreads love everywhere she goes. I miss you already, Camellia.

Then there's the other girls or should I say, "characters?"...
the one who never had a change to talk, Gail Darty Johnson, grey blouse; the happy one, Deborah Barrentine Vines, blue stripped blouse; Camellia, and then the one who brought everyone here (2nd trip to the bb) Blenda Ann Leslie Davis, brown stripped blouse. As it turns out, it's a very small world. Three of these girls have connections in my home town, Hueytown, AL (me-class of '67). What fun we had talking about people we all knew from years gone by. Jane Leslie Alexander...you win because we talked more about you than anyone and we all love you!!!

We hated to see you go, but I know you girls left ready to spread God's love and joy somewhere else. Camellia, Carl misses YOU the most! Love to all. Diann
